YWC, Langthabal rallied to claim the title of the 6th Soraisham Ronika Memorial Junior Girls Football Tournament with a 2-1 win over KRYPSA, naoremthong at Khuman Lampak main Stadium today. Y Premi provided the KRYPSA breakthrough in the 27th minute YWC neutralised through an S Pramodini penalty in the 39th minute before Ph Bina sealed victory from another penalty award in the 67th minute. The champions were awarded Rs 15,000 and trophy while the runners-up side had to be content with Rs 10,000
 
Football camp Top
A football coaching camp organis- ed by the 21 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 9 sector Headquarters at its battalion headquarters ground, Kakching concluded today. The camp which com- menced from January 27 was planned keeping in mind, enthusiasm and zeal for the sport in the State and to provide the young boys an opportunity to venture out and prove their mettle, said an AR release. In all 22 young foot-ballers hand-picked after trials at various schools of the area were trained by an AFC qualified coach for one month, it said while adding that each of the players were provided full football kit.
 
I-League 2nd division to kick off from March 26 Top
The I-League 2nd division qualifying round will be held from March 26 to April 25 in three venues viz. Delhi, Bangalore and Tripura. 21 teams will be participating in the qualifying round and has been divided into three groups. Top two teams from each group will then meet in the final round along with Mohammedan Sporting and Vasco S.C (who faced relegation last year in the I-League Division I) scheduled to be held at Bangalore. The final round will take place sometime at the end of April or first week of May. The two top teams from the final round will qualify for the I-League Division I next year. Group A: Bangalore HAL (Bangalore), BEML (Bangalore), Malabar United (Kerala), Titanium (Kerala), Golden Thread (Kerala), SBT (Kerala), Chandni F.C (Kerala) Group B: Delhi Sesa Football Academy (Goa), ONGC (Mumbai), Simla Youngs (Delhi), Indian National Football Club (Delhi), Hindustan Football Club (Delhi), New Delhi Heroes (Delhi), Amity United (Haryana) Group C: Tripura Guwahati Town Club (Assam), Oil India (Assam), JCB Bhilai (Chhattisgarh), Ar-Hima (Meghalaya), Denzong Boys (Sikkim), NISA (Manipur), Mumbai United (Mumbai)
