U-21 National Football Championship, 2010 Top
The 19th edition of the U-21 National Football Championship for M. Dutta Ray kicks off on February 11 in Haryana with 26 states vying for the coveted championship. The 26 states have been drawn in eight clusters, with matches being held at two venues viz. Gurgaon and Faridabad. West Bengal so far has dominated the records winning the championship six times, while Goa remains at the second place bagging it five times. Punjab and Railways has taken away the prestigious trophy twice each. Defending champions Punjab are clubbed with Karnataka and Rajasthan in Cluster I, while runners up Mizoram are in Cluster II with Himachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. The league matches will be played from February 11 to 16, while the quarter final round will be held from February 18 to 22. The semi-finals are scheduled to be held on February 24 & 25 with grand finale taking place on February 28. The league matches and the quarter final round of Cluster I, III, VII & VIII matches will be held in Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Gurgaon, while Cluster II, IV, V, VI matches will take place at Nahar Singh Stadium, Faridabad. Semi-finals as well finals will be played at Gurgaon. Cluster I- Punjab, Karnataka & Rajasthan Cluster II-Mizoram, Himachal Pradesh & Andhra Pradesh. Cluster III-Haryana, Madhya Pradesh & Pondicherry. Cluster IV- West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh & Jharkhand. Cluster V-Kerala, Manipur. Cluster VI- Meghalaya, Maharashtra, Gujrat & Jammu &Kashmir. Cluster VII- Goa, Orissa & Uttar Pradesh. Cluster VIII-Assam, Tamilnadu, Delhi & Daman & Diu. Matches on February 11 At Gurgaon: Punjab vs. Rajasthan & Haryana vs. Pondicherry At Faridabad: Himachal Pradesh vs. Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal vs. Uttarakhand & Jharkhand vs. Chandigarh.

L Tiken completed a brilliant hattrick as TRAU, Kwakeithel overwhelmed NCYWO, Bishnupur by four goals to two in the opening match of the 3rd Loktak Trophy football tournament at Moirang Multi-purpose Higher Secondary School ground, Moirang today. after opening the TRAU score in the 13th minute, Tiken added to more in the 37th and 82nd minutes to guide his team to the comfortable victory. Premchand netted the other TRAU goal in the 28th. For the Bishnupur side, Kenet (61st) and K Alen (73rd) were the scorers. Bishnupur assembly Constituency MLA Govindas Konthoujam and Deputy Manager (Administration) of Loktak Power Sta-tion Ksh Joykumar Singh graced the opening ceremony as the chief guest and president respectively.
