Custom Search by sportswire4u.blogspot.com (Balbir) CHANDIGARH, SEPT 2 Powerful and speedy L Robert Metai registered the first hat-trick as Gorkha Training Centre of Shillong thrashed Indian Tigers of Mumbai by a whooping 10-1 margin Group A match in the 8th Administrator's Challenge Cup All India Under-17 Football Tournament being hosted by the Chandigarh Sports Department at the Sector 42 Football Ground here today. Robert Metai was not much in picture earlier. It was only in the last 20 minutes of the match when he hogged the limelight as the performed three-in-a-row feat. He netted in the 60th, 63rd and 78th minutes to earn the distinction of becoming the first player to earn the distinction of scoring three-in-a-row feat of the tournament. P Tshering Singh also contributed three goals by scoring in the 15th, 24th and 44th minutes. Other goal-getters for Gorkha Training Centre were T Itonsana Singh (25th), Roel Lepcha (32nd), A Sushil Metei (37th) and Bijoy Subha (43rd). At the same ground, Mirozam SSA outplayed Haryana Football Association by 6-1 in Group B fixture. It was Haryana which drew the first blood with Narender Singh finding the object in the 17th minute. After conceding a goal, Mizoram hit back with vengeance and restored parity in the 19th minute through Francis Ramdin. The Mizoram players then struck through Challiant Lunga (34th) and Dawngliana (39th) to take a 2-1 lead in the fisrt half. On resumption, the Mizoram players continued to dominate and Dawngliana (45th), Lal Rin Hlya (57th) and C Remmawia (80th, penalty) added one goal each to increase their victory margin. Haryana player Kailash was cautioned for using abusive language. Haryana player Ankit was injured during the play and was referred to Government Multi Specialities Hospital in Sector 16 for X-ray of his right foot. Dr Amrik Singh, doctor on duty at the venue, referred Ankit to the Sector for X-ray as he suspects fracture in toe. At the Sector 17 Football Stadium, Madhya Pradesh eked out a surprising 1-0 victory over Dalbir Academy of Patiala in group D match. The match-winner was scored by Mukesh Kumar in 80+1 (additional time) Vineet Yadav of MP was cautioned in the 50th minute for rough play. Youth Club of Rurka Kalan defeated Sampalpur Football Academy of Orissa by 3-0 in a Group C league outing. Ashit Gupta opened the account for Youth Club in the 15th minute. Amritpal Singh (37th) and Harjit Singh (42nd) contributed one goal each as Youth Club recorded a facile victory. Sambalpur Academy's Ajmin Chisti received a yellow card in the 70th minute for indulging in rough play. Mahindra and Mahindra of Mumbai did not report for the match against Rohit Academy of Orissa who were given walkover and full points. Mahindras have withdrawn from the tournament.
