| Mohammedan Sporting Club and Ar-Hima FC have topped the preliminary Group B in the 2nd Division I-League to qualify for the final round of the league to be played in Shillong. The matches were played in Jamshedpur at the JRD Tata sports complex and the Keenan Stadium. Former I-League side Mohammedan Sporting didn't face too many problems in topping the group, but behind them four teams still had a chance to go through ahead of the last round of matches. In the end Ar-Hima FC from Shillong had a better goal difference then Kenkre FC and Josco FC to go through as all three sides finished on 10 points. The surprise of the preliminary round is that Sesa Football Academy did not make it from this group or rather that they were out of contention before the final round of matches and they finished a lowly sixth, while Malabar United FC only finished fifth, both sides who last year played in the final round of the 2.Division.
