Indian businessman confirms £25m bid for Blackburn Rovers Top
Indian businessman Saurin Shah, owner of Qubic Sports and Entertainment group, has confirmed he is keen on buying Blackburn Rovers. He has made a £25 million offer for the club and hopes to complete a deal by the end of July. Saurin: "We're serious. We're in negotiations. We've acquired the right of due diligence. We have the right of first refusal. There are many Indian and Pakistani people in Lancashire, so the interest is natural." The big questions – how much money they're going to invest in the club, how dependent their business plan will be on staying in the Premier League, how they will use the Asian connections to promote the club in India – still remain unanswered, but we can expect to hear more in the coming weeks. One thing that's certain is that Saurin has plenty of examples in front of him of how NOT to conduct a takeover in the Premier League, as well as examples of poorly managed clubs (think Portsmouth, West Ham, and if you want to talk about crippling debt, Liverpool and Manchester United). Let's hope this is a case where he will (or his advisors will) learn from mistakes made by others and not follow in their path. Source: Soccernet .
